THE CROWN Seek Live Footage For Posthumous DVD

June 28, 2004

Defunct Swedish thrashers THE CROWN have announced plans to issue a posthumous live DVD and are asking fans for help in compiling THE CROWN live footage for the as-yet-untitled release. Details of all submissions should be sent to Johan. "Of course if we use your stuff, you will be credited for it," the band write on their web site. "This will not be the average live DVD release, this will be something very, VERY unique..."

As previously reported, THE CROWN's upcoming posthumous release, "Crowned Unholy", will be issued with a free bonus DVD, entitled "The Crown Invades Karlsruhe". The DVD, which is not to be confused with the above-mentioned separate release, is a full live show filmed professionally on THE CROWN's last tour in Karlsruhe, Germany on November 24, 2003.

"Crowned Unholy" is a remake of the band's fifth album, "Crowned In Terror", with re-recorded vocal tracks by Johan Lindstrand, re-recorded bass tracks by Magnus Olsfelt, a new version of the intro (originally written by guitarist Marko Tervonen, now programmed by drummer Janne Saarenpää),drum sound digitally enhanced by Janne, and cool synthesizer-spiced parts, all programmed by Janne.

"Crowned Unholy" will be released on August 9 through Metal Blade Records Europe.
